There’s good reason that thousands of people from all over the world flock to the small town of Everglades City, Florida each year to partake in the festivities that now makes this the 53rd Annual Everglades Seafood Festival. Held the third weekend of February by the Florida Stone Crabbers Association (FLSCA), locals know this as the One and Only Annual ‘Seafood Festival’ held on the Gulf Waters of Southwest Florida.  This three-day event has it all including  another great live musical lineup that is headlined by Southern Rock legends, The Marshall Tucker Band.   The event and seafood selection remains authentic, hospitable and delicious while growing as big and as fun for the entire family as any County Fair. Expect plenty of food vendor selections but it’s the  assortment of seafood that includes fresh shrimp, stone crab, crab claws, jambalaya, lobster, and of course the fried gator bites that keep’s bringing people from every corner of the country and the globe to the town that has typically has 367  year-round residents according to latest census results.
It all starts with an opening ceremony in front of City Hall at 102 Copeland Ave. Everglades City on Friday February at 4:30 and a fireworks show at dark. From there you be able to take it all in with a full schedule of  live music, plenty of cold drinks, and delicious seafood while you browse dozens of quality vendors and craft booths.  The kids will enjoy carnival rides and games all three days. This year’s entertainment line-up is tremendous and includes the legendary Southern Rock Hall of Fame Inductees from Nolensville, Tennessee, The Winters Brothers Band who headline Friday night.  and  besides The Marshall Tucker Band, Saturday’s all-day music features Florida Straits, Charlie Pace, The Rock Republic Band and more. Sunday the music begins at 11 AM with a tremendous line up of local and regional singer-songwriters and seasoned stage entertainers including Gator Nate, Wes Shipp and features Whey Jennings who comes that county music family of royalty including his grandfather Waylon and grandmother Jessie Colter. Singer Songwriter Ward Davis, an accomplished performer from Monticello, Arkansas by way of Nashville, Tennessee who will perform at 5 PM to conclude the 2023 Everglades Seafood Festival.
